Holistic health promotion with Festo:
In collaboration with Deep Care, Festo has introduced the digital health coach ISA to promote healthy work routines for mobile workplaces. The successful collaboration is highlighted in the sustainability report as a positive example of holistic health promotion.
Sustainability in a company means taking ecological, social and economic aspects into account and acting for the long term in order to achieve a positive impact on the environment, society and our own business.
In the corporate context, it is often reduced to the carbon footprint. One aspect that is often neglected is sustainability in relation to employee health. If employees can be encouraged to adopt healthy behaviours, this not only helps to increase productivity and reduce medical costs, but also contributes to the long-term stability and resilience of the company.
By enabling and encouraging healthy working, companies not only promote the well-being of their employees, but also invest in a sustainable future. After all, healthy habits that are established at work can have a positive impact on people's entire lives and thus contribute to the long-term health of society.
In 2022, Festo offered numerous online and face-to-face workplace health promotion programmes, enabling a total of 4,500 employees nationally and internationally to adopt health-conscious behaviour.
In the Sustainability Report the company emphasises three BGF measures. In addition to a pilot project to improve ergonomics in logistics and action weeks on the topic of heart health, the collaboration with Deep Care will also be presented.
Following a previous pilot phase, we jointly introduced the digital health coach as a workplace health promotion programme for mobile workplaces. The aim was to create a preventative programme for musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases that can be used both in the office and at home. Within six months, 105 employees were able to improve their health behaviour in terms of ergonomics and exercise through six weeks of digital coaching while at work.
Our work focuses not only on achieving a sustainable effect on health behaviour through ISA, but also on ensuring that the devices are used sustainably. With the help of our ISA-on-demand circulation system, we ensure that only as many devices are in use as demand requires. This allows the devices to be used multiple times and prevents unused hardware from being in circulation. This solution ensures active utilisation of the devices and thus contributes to sustainable resource conservation.
The presentation of the digital health coach ISA as a success story of holistic health promotion in the sustainability report is a great honour for us. We are proud to be part of Festo's comprehensive sustainability strategy and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
