About
E.ON

The E.ON Group is one of the largest operators of energy networks and energy infrastructure in Europe and thus a driving force for greater sustainability in the energy supply. The Group's headquarters are located in Essen, from where E.ON provides an innovative health programme for its office employees.

E.ON SE has a renowned company health management system that goes far beyond the legal requirements and proactively supports employee health promotion in addition to occupational health and safety.

In order to continuously develop its occupational health management, E.ON maintains a lively dialogue with occupational health management managers from other companies. In the course of such an exchange of experiences, E.ON learnt about ISA, which prompted them to contact Deep Care.

The challenge: Healthy habits in modern working life

Long periods of sitting, little movement, inadequate ergonomics - many employees at E.ON faced the same challenges that are typical in modern working environments. The shift to working from home made it particularly difficult to establish health-promoting routines in everyday working life. Although there were ergonomic consultations and classic BGM programmes, they were often not implemented in everyday life. A solution was needed that was low-threshold, effective and easy to integrate.

The way to Isa: A recommendation from Bosch

The solution came as a surprise from another large corporation: the occupational health management coordinator at Bosch told E.ON about their positive experiences with Isa, the AI-based health monitoring system from Deep Care. An initial meeting was quickly arranged to present the innovative concept: An offline AI solution that unobtrusively reminds employees of healthy sitting habits, more exercise and better hydration - without pressure, without sharing data.

Test phase: Successful integration into the BGM

E.ON decided in favour of a structured test phase to check the acceptance and added value of Isa within the company. Following consultation with data protection and the works council, Isa devices were distributed to a selected group of employees. They were used both in the office and from home. Surveys were conducted to evaluate the impact of Isa - with impressive results:

Based on the feedback, targeted optimisations were also made to Isa, such as the introduction of a "focus mode" and individually adaptable training intensities to ensure optimal integration into everyday working life.

Scaling: from pilot project to widespread use

Following the successful pilot phase, Isa was introduced as an "on-demand" solution at the Group headquarters in Essen. This model allows employees to flexibly order an Isa device and use it individually over a period of around 12 weeks. This period was chosen deliberately, as experience has shown that lasting changes in behaviour are consolidated after around two months. The Isa-On-Demand usage concept means that employees now have the opportunity to use Isa once a year free of charge to refresh their health coach and further consolidate the routines they have learnt. The high demand confirmed the added value of the solution, so the health management team decided to scale up Isa further.

Due to the minimal organisational effort and the positive effects, Isa was gradually expanded to other locations and two subsidiaries. This turned a targeted test phase into a company-wide solution that became an integral part of E.ON's OHM strategy.

Conclusion: Isa as a sustainable BGM solution

E.ON's success story shows how a well thought-out, step-by-step approach can lead to sustainable health promotion. Through a combination of evaluation, positive user experience and easy scalability, Isa was successfully integrated into the OHM. What began as a pilot has now established itself as a proven solution - and ensures more movement, better ergonomics and increased well-being in the workplace every day.
