Last week, the "Ländle" became the centre of international attention - at the TECH 2025 in Heilbronnone of the most exciting new technology conferences in Europe. Right in the centre of the action: Deep Care. Our CEO Dr Milad Geravand was a speaker at the event. to the Cyber Valley Masterclass, which focused on one of the most pressing questions in the innovation landscape: How to successfully translate scientific findings from research into marketable products?
The session focussed on the challenge of bringing deep tech innovations from the laboratory into the real world - in a concrete, effective and socially relevant way. Dr Milad Geravand brought Deep Care into the discussion as a showcase example: a health tech start-up that has transformed research findings into an ethical, well thought-out and demonstrably effective solution for preventive healthcare in the workplace that is suitable for everyday use. With Isa - the sensor-based AI health assistant for the workplace - makes it possible to integrate scientifically based principles of behavioural change into everyday office life in a measurable and sustainable way.
TECH 2025 - short for "Technology Experience Convention Heilbronn" - took place for the first time in Heilbronn from 25 to 27 May. It was organised by the Handelsblatt Media Group in co-operation with Black Digits. The aim of the conference is to strengthen Europe's technological innovation power, make pioneering technologies more visible and promote interdisciplinary dialogue between science, politics and business.
The focus was on topics such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, deep tech, robotics, space tech, security and defence technologies and digital sovereignty. The conference positioned itself as a future-oriented think tank with international appeal - with a high-calibre line-up and a bold choice of topics.
To the well-known personalities, who spoke at TECH 2025 included Bundestag President Julia Klöckner, Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger, Baden-Württemberg's Minister President Winfried Kretschmann and Deutsche Bank CEO Christian Sewing. Nobel Prize winner Maria Ressa, Taiwan's Digital Minister Audrey Tang and renowned technology and science experts such as Andrew McAfee from MIT and DeepL founder Jarek Kutylowski also contributed their perspectives.
This constellation emphasised TECH 2025's ambition to actively shape Europe's role in the technological transformation - based on a strong regional innovation ecosystem such as Cyber Valley.
Dr Milad Geravand was part of the Cyber Valley Masterclass entitled "From Lab to Market: How Research is Driving Innovation". The session was dedicated to the question of how marketable products emerge from excellent research - and what challenges and opportunities lie along the way.
Milad reported on the founding and development of Deep Care, on the collaboration with partners such as the Fraunhofer Institute and on the concrete implementation of scientific findings in an AI product suitable for everyday use: Isa - a digital health assistant for the workplace.
"The transfer from research can only succeed if technology solves real problems - in everyday life, for real people. That's exactly what we're aiming for with Isa," says Geravand. The presentation made it clear that deep tech requires not only an understanding of technology, but also a deep understanding of problems - and this is precisely where Deep Care's strength lies.
In addition to the lecture Dr Milad Geravand, Dr Raham Zarfam and Frederik Blohm TECH 2025 was used intensively to make contacts, hold talks with potential partners and gain new impetus for the further development of the company.
The interest in Isa - the AI-based health solution for everyday office life - was huge. In particular, the combination of offline technology, data protection compliance, multisensory interaction and measurable behavioural impact met with curiosity and recognition from many of the people we spoke to.
The increased media interest was already evident in the run-up to TECH: On 22 May, a camera team from SWR visited our office in Ludwigsburg. This resulted in a television report that was broadcast on 26 May as part of the main news programme SWR Aktuell.
The report sheds light on how Isa works in everyday life - as a small, sensor-based AI unit that sits directly on your desk and gently motivates you to adopt healthier behaviour. Movement impulses, advice on ergonomics or hydration are just as much a part of this as consciously dealing with stress and overload.
The SWR team was not just a spectatorThey were also able to take an exclusive look behind the scenes of our development work: they accompanied a training session for our AI algorithm live on site. Sports scientist Lukas Heck slipped into a motion-capturing suit to provide the learning system with additional movement data. These sequences are used to further refine the body recognition and interpretation of our 3D sensor technology - in line with a deep learning approach that later works completely offline on the device.
In the article, Simon Fiechtner explains the technology behind Isa, while colleagues demonstrate in real office situations how intuitively the system works - without an app, without the cloud, completely data-secure and in the service of workplace health promotion.
Health is not a "nice to have", but the basis for a fulfilling life and sustainable productivity. Nevertheless, many companies struggle with a lack of exercise, chronic exhaustion and a preventative approach that often only takes effect when it is too late.
The consequences are measurable: according to the DAK Health Report 2024, the number of absences due to illness reached a record high in 2023. Employees in Germany were absent for an average of 19.4 days per year, particularly frequently due to musculoskeletal disorders and mental stress. According to the BAuA, the economic damage caused by sickness-related absences from work recently totalled over 150 billion euros per year - and the trend is rising.
This is precisely where Deep Care comes in: with AI that not only measures, but also changes behaviour in a sustainable way - suitable for everyday use, scientifically sound and technologically cutting-edge. TECH 2025 has shown that the need and interest in such solutions is not only present, but urgent.
We are delighted that Deep Care is part of this movement as a voice for responsible health prevention in the workplace - and that Ludwigsburg has thus become visible on the international technology map.
Deep Care is a HealthTech start-up based in Ludwigsburg, founded in 2020. Our vision is a world in which prevention is intuitive, effective and part of everyday life. With the AI-based health assistant Isa, we are making the workplace healthier - already in over 200 companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
